  • Overview

    Provides leadership and management over the activities, affairs, operations, and staff of the College. Develops, directs, and administers activities such as institutional development, institutional research, continuing education/training programs, and other specified community-oriented programs, initiatives, and services. Embodies the success and optimism of the brand when interfacing with students, staff, and community to enhance and extend the College’s programs and services to the public at large.


    Designs, establishes, and maintains an organizational structure and staffing to effectively accomplish the organization's goals and objectives; recruits, employs, trains, supervises, and evaluates unit staff. Provides direction and leadership in the development, implementation, and on-going administration of the various programs, activities, and initiatives of the campus. Directs the development, implementation, and administration of a range of integrated community-focused operational and administrative programs and projects. Oversees all facets of the daily operations of the campus, ensuring compliance with college, state, and federal laws, policies, regulations, and operating agreements. Establishes and implements short-and long-range organizational goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures; monitors and evaluates program effectiveness; effects changes required for improvement. Oversees the supervision of personnel, which includes work allocation, training, and problem resolution; evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions; motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance. Develops and manages annual budgets for the campus and performs periodic cost and productivity analyses. Directs and coordinates the preparation of a range of reports necessary to fulfill institutional compliance requirements. Represents the organization at various community and/or business meetings; promotes existing and new programs and/or policies. Participates in and/or provides direction in the development and preparation of contract proposals and in post-award contract management, as appropriate.


    Ability to supervise and train staff, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments. Knowledge of organizational structure, workflow, and operating procedures. Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures. Ability to foster a cooperative work environment. Employee development and performance management skills. Ability to analyze complex problems, interprets operational needs, and develops integrated, creative solutions. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Knowledge of reporting requirements and regulations pertaining to institutions of higher education. Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities. Skill in budget preparation and fiscal management. Program development, management, and evaluation skills. Knowledge and understanding of higher education organizational structures, policies, and procedures. Advanced verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present effectively to small and large groups. Knowledge of contracts and grants development and management.
